Blaze Entertainment's Evercade Nexus handheld is due on 30 October 2026, and it launches alongside two cartridges that Blaze describes as native versions rather than emulated originals: DOOM, and Rare's two Banjo games. A collection of C64, Atari ST and ZX Spectrum versions of The Last Ninja and International Karate follows on 4 December.
The Nexus
The Nexus costs GBP 169.99, $199.99 or EUR 199.99, with the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack in the box. Blaze's specification lists a 5.89-inch, 840x512 IPS screen rated at more than 500 nits, dual analogue sticks, 512 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi 6 for updates and a 5,000 mAh battery rated for more than five hours. An August press release gave the screen as 5.3 inches; the product page and VGC's review both say 5.89.
EverSync, a new wireless feature, lets two Nexus consoles play local multiplayer from one cartridge without an internet connection, and a TATE button rotates the picture for vertical arcade games. The Nexus plays the existing library, which Blaze puts at more than 80 cartridges and 700 games.
VGC's review on 9 October called it "easily the best handheld Blaze has released to date" but criticised the lack of HDMI output and boot times longer than they should be. A Funstock-only Nexus 64 Edition of 2,000 units has sold out.
DOOM and Banjo
The DOOM Collection, Evercade home computer cartridge #11, holds DOOM and DOOM II, which Blaze says are ported from the PC versions, plus TNT: Evilution, The Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for DOOM II, No Rest for the Living, SIGIL and SIGIL II, and a new pack of deathmatch maps. Blaze has added gameplay modifiers and new multiplayer modes including Chaosmatch, Instagib and Tag. A Nexus DOOM Edition, limited to 3,000 units and sold only through Funstock, costs GBP 199.99, $249.99 or EUR 239.99.
The Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, home console cartridge #53, was developed with Rare and holds Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. VGC reports widescreen support, higher resolution and 60 frames per second. Both cartridges cost GBP 24.99, $29.99 or EUR 29.99.
Last Ninja and IK on 4 December
The Last Ninja & IK Collection, made with System 3 and numbered home computer cartridge #12, carries 14 games across three formats. The C64 set has International Karate, The Last Ninja, IK+, Last Ninja 2: Back With A Vengeance, Ninja Remix and Last Ninja 3. The Atari ST set has the same titles except the original Last Ninja. The Spectrum set has International Karate, IK+ and Last Ninja 2.
Alongside it, the James Pond Collection, cartridge #54, gathers the four 16-bit console James Pond games. Both went on pre-order on 24 September and are due on 4 December 2026, at GBP 24.99, EUR 29.99 or $29.99 each.
