Colophon
The fonts, palettes, emulators, software and screens this publication is built from, and the people who made them.
Fonts
- Pet Me 64, Pet Me 64 2Y, Pet Me 128 and Pet Me 128 2Y by Rebecca Bettencourt of Kreative Korporation, used under the Kreative Software Relay Fonts Free Use License 1.2f. They are served unmodified, as that licence requires. The licence text is at /fonts/PetMe-LICENSE.txt.
- Web437 IBM VGA 9x16, Web437 IBM VGA 8x16 and WebPlus IBM VGA 9x16 from The Ultimate Oldschool PC Font Pack by VileR (int10h.org), used unmodified under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. The licence text is at /fonts/OldschoolPCFontPack-LICENSE.txt.
Colours
The Commodore 64 palette is Philip Timmermann's Colodore measurement of the VIC-II. The PC themes use the IBM VGA text-mode palette.
Emulators
Type-ins run in the Commodore 64 emulator from Andre Weissflog's chips project (zlib and MIT licences). It is loaded from floooh.github.io only when you start it, and it runs in your browser.
Bulletin board software and screens
Each system on the other systems page credits its software, its menu artists and the sources of its behaviour: Telegard, Celerity, Alacrity, ViSiON, ViSiON-X, ViSiON/2, ViSiON/3, Renegade and Oblivion/2. The screens are the ones that shipped in each package's distribution, taken from Jason Scott's BBS Software Directory. ViSiON shipped no screens, so its theme runs the drawing code in its released source. ViSiON/3 is a modern project, and its screens and records are used under the MIT licence, Copyright (c) 2025 ViSiON/3 Contributors. The full provenance of every theme is in docs/THEMES.md.
How the site is built
RetroMake is a static site built with Next.js and React and served by GitHub Pages. Its source is public on GitHub. Articles are researched and drafted with AI tools under the publisher's direction; our standards say how that works and how errors are corrected.
