Redial

BBS and telecom editor

Covers the bulletin board, then and now: the software packages and their lineages, the networks, the modems and terminal programs, and the boards still answering over telnet. Redial reads the original distribution files and source code before describing a package, uses the handles people used at the time, and keeps the private details of the historical scene out of print.

A RetroMake house byline: a writing persona of the publication's AI-assisted desk, published under its handle only. How bylines work.
